The province is home to some world renowned manufacturers and family establishments who have been producing quality products for generations. One can relish the local produce in any of the numerous Farm Shops and Markets in Suffolk. They are one of the best places to treat yourself to some fresh farm produce, thanks to their long standing commitment to quality. The famed amongst them has to be Jimmy’s Pannigton Hall Farm in Wherstead, Ipswich. It’s so popular that they have their own TV shows. Jimmy initiated the project of breeding rare pigs, cows and sheep about four years ago. He envisioned a place where a lay man could learn the nuisances of food, farming and nature without much effort. Jimmy’s Farm has now been turned into a full fledged educational resource with courses being offered for children during vacations.
Ufford Produce and Provision Co in Lower Ufford, Woodbridge is another award winning food store in Suffolk. They are open on all of the 365 days in a year and is set in a picturesque village in Debben Valley. The store offer customers a chance to visit the farms once every day of the week. The meat products which are sold in Ufford Provisions are all sourced from butcheries within a 40 mile radius. This allows for easy traceability and helps it to maintain top notch quality of its produce. Palmers Bakery, nestled in Haughley has a long standing tradition of supplying confectionaries and fresh bread to the local comities since 1752.
